Living Free Home Replaces Unsafe Wooden Ramp with Aluminum Ramp for a NJ School Building

Wooden Ramp

Overview

Based in New Jersey, Living Free Home is a leading supplier of quality commercial and residential wheelchair ramps. With our extensive experience in installing ramps for commercial settings like schools, universities, office buildings and churches, we recently replaced an unsafe wooden ramp in a local school building in Phillipsburg, NJ with a new aluminum open mesh modular wheelchair ramp.

Challenge

The request was to improve the safety of ramp users by replacing the unsafe wood ramp with any other permanent solution. Tight space constraints between the building and the drive through were also a challenge.

Solution

Our skilled technicians removed the existing wooden ramp that was deemed unsafe and replaced it with the new aluminum wheelchair ramp. We also modified the ramp to fit the tight space constraints between the building and the drive through. Though wooden ramps are attractive, they are only a temporary solution. They have the tendency to warp or deteriorate under extreme weather conditions. Nails that hold the ramp together may rust and become loose. Aluminum modular ramp has the highest degree of friction on the surface to eliminate slips and falls. Its open mesh surface also allows rain and light snow to fall through the ramp ensuring no puddles or ice patches can develop. These ramps also have a lifetime warranty.

Living Free Home offers professional ramp installation support in New York, Boston, and the Philadelphia Area.
